Jackson Simmons and the Scaredy Cat Volunteers
The Hardwood Heels got some great news yesterday as Jackson Simmons agreed to come on as a walk-on. Simmons averaged nearly 20 pts per game and had several scholarship offers from some great midmajors (I know, I know, what does midmajor even mean anymore? - he had offers from Charlotte, Davidson, ODU..), but chose to walk-on to the Heels instead. This is a huge pickup for us... I love to see the Carolina name meaning something to an in-state kid.
In other news, the Tennessee Volunteers are cowards. Seriously. They are willing to pay $750,000 to back out of a football game against us in 2011. Their reasoning -- they want to break up a really tough stretch of games. A stretch that includes, Bama, UGA, Pitt... so pick one of those games to back out of! Come on Vols, the Heels want to play!
